Recent changes to the Tier 2 which became effective in November 2014 have placed new Sponsor Licence applications and Tier 2 applications under scrutiny by the Home Office. The main change in regards to Tier 2 is the introduction of a ‘genuineness’ test.
Tier 1 (General) Category will be Closed from 6th April 2015
You can’t apply for a Tier 1 (General) category visa if you’re outside the UK, and you normally can’t switch to it from other immigration categories. From 6 April 2015 it will be closed to applicants who want to extend their visa.
